Marcos to Palace employees: Stay focused amid the political noise
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday reminded Malacañang employees to stay focused amid recent political noise and to weather the disruptions of the old guard that are “necessary” to improve the lives of Filipinos.
He made the remarks at the flag-raising ceremony at the Office of the President (OP), during which he also thanked Palace employees for their hard work throughout the year.
“It is very, very important that we stay focused. I know that there is a great deal of political noise going on,” Marcos said.
The President went on: “We have actually been very effective disruptors of the old guard, and that is something that we will just have to weather, because what we are doing is correct, what we are doing is right, what we are doing is necessary.”
“It is time. It is our opportunity here, now, today to make things right, to make things better, to make the lives of each Filipino better,” he added.
The President did not mention the disruptions that he was referring to. But in recent months, he initiated a campaign against corruption by ordering a probe of anomalous flood control projects to hold culprits accountable.
Last week, he also urged Congress to prioritize the passage of several measures, including an Anti-Political Dynasty Bill.
Marcos said it is his tradition to address Palace employees during Christmas to express his gratitude to them and to remind them to enjoy the holidays with their loved ones.
“From the depths of my heart, I am grateful to you for the work that you have done, because I know that you have dedicated above and beyond, lahat ng ginagawa ninyo (everything that you’re doing), above and beyond the common duty, as we say in the military,” he added. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
