PNP: Over 1,000 personnel dismissed from service in 2025

A total of 1,043 personnel have been dismissed from the service from January 1, 2025 to December 3, 2025 according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

At a press conference on Monday, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño this number include 980 police non-commissioned officers, 39 police commissioned officers, and 24 non-uniformed personnel.

The highest rank of a police officer dismissed from the service was police colonel, according to Tuaño.

Most of the dismissed cops were patrolmen with 335, police staff sergeants with 292, and police corporals with 259.

The leading reasons of their removal were absent without official leave (AWOL) with 590 cases, illegal drug use with 82, robbery and extortion with 39, as well as other grave offenses with 220.

According to the PNP, most of the dismissed personnel were from the National Headquarters with 258, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) with 219, and Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) with 114. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
