Fourth Filipino conjoined twins to undergo surgery in Saudi Arabia
Filipino conjoined twins Olivia and Gianna Manuel are set to undergo separation surgery in Saudi Arabia, the fourth from the Philippines.
In a statement, the Saudi Embassy said the twins and their parents paid a courtesy visit to Faisal Ebraheem Alghamdi, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of the Philippines, ahead of their departure.
He said the initiative reflects the “Kingdom’s continued efforts” in humanitarian work.
“It also exemplifies the Kingdom’s leading role on the international stage, while embodying the deep-rooted and distinguished friendship between the governments and peoples of the two countries,” the Saudi Embassy said.
In June, Klea Ann and Maurice Ann Misa became the third Filipino conjoined twins to undergo separation surgery in Saudi Arabia. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
