Palace suspends gov't work on Dec. 29, 2025; Jan. 2, 2026

Malacañang announced Thursday the suspension of government work on December 29, 2025 and January 2, 2026 amid the holiday season. 

According to Memorandum Circular 111, the suspension was ordered to provide government employees a full opportunity to celebrate New Year's Day activities. This will also allow them to travel to and from different regions in the country, the document read.

Agencies responsible for basic, vital, and health services, and preparedness and response duties will continue to remain operational.

Meanwhile, the suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
