NBI appeals for dashcam footage of Kennon Road for Cabral death probe

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) urged motorists who recently traveled along Kennon Road to provide dashcam footage of the area where former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary Catalina Cabral was last seen alive in Tuba, Benguet.

The NBI made its appeal on Saturday to "all motorists" who passed Kennon Road on Thursday, December 18 within the 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. time window. Those who "may have dashcam footage" were urged to share their video of the area along Sitio Maramal Camp 5, Barangay 4 in Tuba.

To recall, Cabral requested her driver to be left at the area at about 3 p.m. on Thursday. The driver returned to the location around 5 p.m. but was unable to find her. He sought police assistance around 7 p.m.

Baguio police went to the scene and found the victim at the side of the Bued River, 20 to 30 meters below the highway.

According to the Tuba police, a municipal doctor pronounced Cabral dead at the scene beside the Bued River at 12:03 a.m. on Friday.

The NBI assured that "[a]ny information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality" and would be used solely for its investigation.

Those who wish to voluntarily provide assistance to the NBI may contact cellphone number 09089780135  or email at nbiserves@nbi.gov.ph.
