DOH to begin monitoring 'holiday health concerns'
The Department of Health (DOH) is set to begin their Christmas inspections and start monitoring patient data as part of its Ligtas Christmas Campaign.
Hospital inspections and patient monitoring will begin on Monday, and figures relating to holiday health concerns will be released daily from December 23, 2025 until January 5, 2026, according to DOH.
Focused cases will include patients with heart, stroke, or asthma attacks, road-crash victims, and firecracker-related injuries.
Meanwhile, they shared that Zero-Balance Billing will remain applicable for patients rushed to DOH hospitals during the holidays.
Earlier, the DOH advised the youth to curb “bad habits” and encourage their families to practice safer methods of celebrations during the holidays for their Ligtas Christmas Campaign.
This was a response to a reported increase in holiday heart syndrome symptoms, incidents of road crashes, and firecracker-related injuries nationwide every end of the year. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
