AFP warns public vs. fake videos impersonating Brawner

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) warned social media users to be cautious of a fake YouTube channel impersonating Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.

In a statement, the AFP said the fake account uses "highly deceptive, AI-generated videos."

"These contents are unauthorized, digitally manipulated, and intended to mislead," it said.

"The AFP strongly condemns the malicious use of AI to undermine public trust, warning perpetrators and purveyors of deepfakes that the long arms of the law will soon catch up with them," it added.

The military urged the public to "stay vigilant and rely only on official AFP channels." —LDF, GMA Integrated News
