LTO deploys mobile AI command centers along NLEX
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has deployed Mobile Command Centers powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) for a safer and smoother travel experience this holiday season.
According to LTO, the move was made along with continuous deployment of officers and other facilities along Metro Manila roads, NLEX, and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao shared that the AI-powered Mobile Command Centers can analyze passing vehicles through CCTV footage.
The centers are able to access the LTO database for registration, active cases or alarms, or unauthorized and illegal changes on the vehicle.
“Layunin nitong umagapay sa mga motorista at biyaherong patungo sa mga lalawigan ng Central at Northern Luzon sa kasagsagan ng Kapaskuhan at pagdiriwang ng Bagong Taon,” said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao.
(This aims to support motorists and travelers heading to the provinces of Central and Northern Luzon during the height of the Christmas season and New Year celebrations.)
The deployment of the facilities followed an earlier deployment of similar Mobile Command Centers along SLEX. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
