Rizal Day 2025 activities: Where and when
The National Historical Commission (NHC) has announced the activities in commemoration of the 129th anniversary of the martyrdom of the country’s national hero, Jose Rizal, on Tuesday, December 30.
The theme for this year is “Rizal: Sa Pagbangonng ng mga Mamayan, Aral, at Diwa Mo and Tunay na Gabay.”
The following programs and activities will be conducted in various parts of the country:
4:00 a.m.
Retracing of Rizal's footsteps from Fort Santiago, Intramuros to Rizal Park Luneta (Manila)
7:00 a.m.
Simultaneous Flag Raising and Wreath-Laying Ceremonies at the:
- Rizal national monument, Rizal Park, Manila
- Museo ni Rizal in Calamba City, Laguna
- Museo ni Rizal in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte
- local Rizal monuments across the country.
9:00 a.m.
- Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Rizal Monument, Plaza de Armas, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila
- BAKAS: Jose Rizal's Imprints in the Provinces of the Philippines Exhibit Opening at the Rizal Shrine, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte
10:00 a.m.
Rizal Day Special Lecture: "Si Rizal bilang Gabay sa Pagbangon ng Nasyon" at the Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila
1:00 p.m.
Annual Sketchwalk: Art Workshop at the Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila
5:00 p.m.
Paligsahan: Ang Piging at Tulang Pasalita at the Rizal Shrine Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte
These activities will be replicated in all Philippine embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions across the world.
There will also be flag-raising ceremonies and display of the Philippine flag in different parts of the country.
