Over 22K outbound, 20K inbound passengers logged on New Year's Eve morning

More than 22,000 outbound passengers and 20,000 inbound passengers were recorded by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in the early hours of Wednesday, New Year's Eve, December 31, 2025.

In an advisory, the PCG said that from 12 midnight to 6 a.m., it recorded a total of 22,146 outbound passengers and 20,956 inbound passengers across all ports in the country. 

PCG personnel inspected a total of 205 vessels and 53 motorized outriggers to guarantee safe and efficient travel from 16 of its districts. 

The agency has placed all of its districts, stations, and sub-stations on heightened alert from December 20, 2025 to January 4, 2026, in anticipation of the increased volume of passengers who are traveling amid the holiday season. 

Meanwhile, in a separate consolidated report, the PCG reported a total of 241,311 outbound passengers and 217,067 inbound passengers in all ports nationwide on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
