PH Navy holds patrol, distributes Media Noche packages in Kalayaan Island Group, WPS

Philippine Navy delivers media noche packages to Navy personnel in WPS

The Western Naval Command (WNC) on New Year’s Day conducted maritime and sovereignty patrol in the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

In statement on Monday, the WNC said the BRP Andres Bonifacio (PS17) also supplied Media Noche packages to Navy personnel assigned in the area.

“As part of the mission, WNC, through PS17, conducted sustained operations across designated sectors within the WNC Area of Operations in support of personnel stationed at Parola, Patag, Pag-Asa, Likas, and Lawak stations,” it said.

“The timely distribution of Media Noche packages provided essential morale and welfare support to deployed personnel, highlighting the importance of troop welfare alongside operational effectiveness,” it added.

This is to sustain maritime security operations in forward areas while boosting the morale of troops stationed in remote and strategically vital outposts during the occasion, the WNC said.

BRP Andres Bonifacio’s continued presence in these WPS features enhanced maritime domain awareness and territorial presence, it added.

This is also to ensure uninterrupted manning and logistical support of forward-deployed units, according to the WNC.

“These operational efforts contributed to maintaining a secure and stable maritime environment while reinforcing WNC’s broader maritime security and sovereignty objectives in the WPS,” the WNC said. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA Integrated News
