No info on alleged Cabinet revamp, says Palace
Malacañang on Tuesday said there is no information on alleged changes in the Cabinet under the administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
"Wala pa po tayong natatanggap na anumang balita. Baka may nagpapakalat pero as of now, wala pa po," Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a media briefing.
(We have yet to receive information on the alleged reorganization. There may be some people who were spreading rumors, but right now, we have no information.)
Castro, however, said the regular performance review of Cabinet members remains ongoing.
"Yes at sabi natin, we are making our performance at the discretion of the President. So depende na po 'yan sa makikita ng Pangulo. Pero as of now, wala pa pong nababalitaan at walang pinaparating na magkakaroon ng Cabinet revamp," she said.
(Yes and we said we are making our performance at the discretion of the President. So that depends on the decision of the President but as of now, we have no information on the alleged Cabinet revamp.)
It can be recalled that Marcos, in May 2025, asked for the courtesy resignations of Cabinet secretaries, to “recalibrate” his administration following the midterm elections.
Another shakeup hit the Marcos Cabinet in November, with the resignation of three high-ranking officials including former Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, and ex-Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman. Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Adrian Bersamin likewise stepped down from his post.
Lucas Bersamin, however, later denied he resigned from his position. —KG, GMA Integrated News
