SC opens poster-making contest for elementary students with P125K prize

The Supreme Court on Friday announced the launch of a nationwide poster-making contest for elementary school students in celebration of its 125th anniversary, with a prize of up to P125,000.

According to the SC, the contest is open to all currently enrolled students from Grade 1 to Grade 6, with each school being allowed to submit only one entry.

The High Court said that 20 finalists will be invited to the SC to present their work before a panel of judges.

The following prizes will be awarded to the winners:

  • First prize - P125,000
  • Second prize - P75,000
  • Third prize - P40,000
  • Special prizes (12 people) - P10,000

“All winners will be formally recognized during an Awarding Ceremony at the SC,” the court said.

Students must create posters with the theme “Imagine a Just World,” measuring 10 inches by 15 inches, either in portrait or landscape orientation.

The court said they may produce the posters through traditional materials such as crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels, or watercolor, through digital tools and applications, or a combination of both.

Participants should prepare a title and a description of no more than 100 words on how the poster reflects the theme, according to the court.

“Each entry must be an original work created specifically for this contest,” it said.

The SC said that the posters will be submitted through an online platform that will be announced soon.

The submission period will be from the third week of January until February 28.

It warned that late entries will not be considered.

Meanwhile, the SC said that selected entries will be featured in an exhbit at the SC and will be included in a coloring book.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
