Angara hopes he won't be part of rumored 'revamp'

Education Secretary Sonny Angara on Friday said while there is no confirmation of a supposed Cabinet revamp, he is hopeful that he will not be included should there be any "reshuffling."

“Hopefully hindi, hopefully hindi tayo kasama doon kung meron man," Angara told reporters in an ambush interview at the San Francisco High School in Quezon City.

(Hopefully not—hopefully we are not included if there is one.)

Angara emphasized that Malacañang has already denied that a Cabinet reshuffle is underway and that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has not personally discussed the matter with him.

“Ah kay Presidente hindi, pero kay palace spokesperson sakin na wala naman saka si ES (Executive Secretary Ralph Recto), sabi wala naman," he noted.

(The President did not say anything, but the Palace spokesperson and ES said there is none.)

Pressed on where the rumors may have originated, Angara declined to speculate.

Earlier this week, Malacañang said there is no information on alleged changes in the Cabinet.

Malacañang on Tuesday said there is no information on alleged changes in the Cabinet under the administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

"Wala pa po tayong natatanggap na anumang balita. Baka may nagpapakalat pero as of now, wala pa po," Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a media briefing.

(We have yet to receive information on the alleged reorganization. There may be some people who were spreading rumors, but right now, we have no information.)

Castro, however, said the regular performance review of Cabinet members remains ongoing. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
