Woman arrested at NAIA 3 for allegedly being an impostor
A 21-year-old woman intending to go to Italy was arrested by Bureau of Immigration personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 for allegedly being an impostor.
The woman was arrested last January 1, according to a report by Rhommel Balasbas on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.
BI identified the passenger as Nimo Ahmed Hassan who presented a Swedish passport.
Although the passport presented was authentic, biometric face-referencing technology showed that Hassan was not the rightful owner of the document, the BI said.
Hassan was found to be from East Africa, but the BI is still investigating to determine her true identity and locate her own travel documents.
She was brought to the BI's holding facility to await deportation proceedings, the BI said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
