8 DPWH regional, district execs under probe, relieved from post —Dizon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday announced that four regional directors and more officials have been relieved from their posts amid investigations.

“I will be announcing changes starting with the regions and some districts today. And the first announcement I will be making is the relief of four regional directors,”  DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said in a press conference.

“We are officially relieving today for various reasons specifically because there are ongoing investigations here, which I cannot fully disclose to you, but suffice it to say we are investigating a lot of people in the department,” he added.

Dizon identified the relieved officials as: 

Regional Directors

• Region 1 - Ronnel M. Tan
• Region 4A - Jovel G. Mendoza
• Region 5 - Virgilio C. Eduarte
• Region 7 - Danilo J. Villa

Assistant Regional Directors

• Region 4B - Neil C. Farala
• Region 5 - Annie S. Dela Vega

District Engineers

• Metro Manila 3rd District Engineering Office - Ruel V. Umali 
• South Manila DEO - Manny B. Bulusan

Meanwhile, the following DPWH officials have been relieved for not meeting the qualifications by the Civil Service Commission (CSC):

OIC District Engineers

• La Union 1st DEO - Sherylann Gonzales
• Iloilo City DEO - Roy Pacanan
• Leyte 4th DEO - Peter Scheller Soco

Dizon said the DPWH has implemented a reshuffle among its officials.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
