LIST: DPWH priority projects for 2026
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday bared infrastructure projects it will prioritize in 2026.
At a press conference, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the priority projects focus on the repair of damaged roads and bridges, completion of unfinished projects, and rehabilitation of flood control structures ahead of the rainy season.The priority projects of the DPWH for 2026 are the following:
Road and highway projects- Maharlika Highway
- Andaya Highway
- EDSA
- C-5 Road
- MacArthur Highway in Apalit, Pampanga
Bridge projects
- Buot-Taop Bridge in Cebu City
- Oyungan Bridge in Iloilo
- Tubod-Nabuna Bridge in Aloran, Misamis Occidental
- San Agustin Bridge in Arayat, Pampanga
- Candaba Bridge along the Baliwag-Candaba-Sta. Ana Road in Pampanga
- Tigasao–Pacifico Bridge in Siargao
- Hanging bridge in Barangay Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya
Flyover project
- Aganan Flyover, Iloilo
Flood control projects
- Bulacan
- Oriental Mindoro
- Davao Occidental
The 2026 infrastructure program prioritizes fixing “bitin” or unfinished roads and bridges and repairing flood control projects with defects before the onset of the rainy season.
Dizon said that the funding will focus on completing ongoing projects and that all new projects must have proper planning and endorsement from local development councils .
The DPWH chief called on the public to report unfinished infrastructure projects in their areas through the agency's transparency portal and official social media accounts.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
