ES Recto, DAR's Estrella, DSWD's Gatchalian PH caretakers amid Marcos' visit to Abu Dhabi

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, and Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian will be the country's caretakers as President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. is set to depart Manila for his working visit in Abu Dhabi. 

This was announced by Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro during a press briefing on Monday.

Marcos will leave the country later in the day, according to Castro.

During the working visit, a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will be signed between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. 

The UAE has since maintained strong relations with the Philippines, since formal diplomatic relations between both countries were established on August 19, 1974.

More than trade and economic partnerships with the Philippines, the UAE has also made its humanitarian and development aids an integral part of its foreign policy with the country. —KG, GMA Integrated News
