The pilgrim image of the Our Lady of Guadalupe from Mexico will visit the Philippines from June to December 2026, making stops in select parishes and cathedrals across the country.

According to a CBCP News report, the image visit is part of the Novena Intercontinental Guadalupana global devotional program from 2025 to 2031.

The Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages in the Philippines (ACSP) said the visit of the Marian image supports national participation in celebrations leading to the 2031 jubilee, which marks the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.

ACSP will soon release the itinerary and schedule of the Marian image visit to cathedrals and parishes honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The visit was the result of a partnership between the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines and the Mexican Bishops' Conference.

The ACSP said the collaboration aims to strengthen national celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is celebrated every December 12.

The association said it would create Filipino catechetical materials on the Guadalupe devotion for parish use.

The program also includes an official Filipino pilgrimage to Mexico in November 2026, with select Guadalupan shrines and parishes.

For 2028, another pilgrimage will be held to the Shrine of Guadalupe de Extremadura in Spain.

ACSP said it will organize national Guadalupan congresses starting in 2027 to strengthen the understanding and devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

A historical book about the Philippine Guadalupan devotion from 1687 to the present will be released by 2031.

The program also connects Philippine shrines to a global "Guadalupan Triangle" network that includes devotional locations in Mexico, Spain, and the Philippines. — Mariel Celine Serquiña
