Antique airport's development shows public funds can be used wisely —Marcos
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Monday said the developments in the Antique Airport shows that public funds could be utilized wisely in infrastructure projects.
Marcos graced the inauguration of the Antique Airport Development Projects in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. The project aims to modernize the airport to boost economic growth and create opportunities for all Filipinos.
(This is a good example of the right allocation of public funds. Through this, we can have faster, cheaper, and better projects.)
(Use this as an example in providing better services to residents and tourists. Let us ensure that these projects are properly constructed to provide faster services to residents.)
Last year, Marcos ordered an investigation into anomalous flood control projects due to corruption as he vowed that government officials involved will be brought to justice.
The airport's new Passenger Terminal Building expanded the capacity to 360 passengers from the previous 64, with Marcos saying that this will provide better airport services with orderly check-in procedures and improved passenger comfort.
Other improvements include the upgraded administrative building, new airport apron and taxiway, and construction of an air traffic control tower.
Further, a new fire station, power house, and pump house were also built to ensure the safety of passengers in the airport.
