Kiko Barzaga apologizes to Enrique Razon

Cavite Representative Kiko Barzaga said he has apologized to business tycoon Enrique Razon over "personal issues."

"Yes," he told GMA News Online when asked to confirm earlier reports about his apology.

"For the personal issues, but the legal case will still push through," he added.

Asked about the personal issues, he said, they're "confidential."

On January 14, Razon, the chair of port operator International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), filed a cyberlibel complaint against Barzaga over the lawmaker’s alleged false statements posted on his social media account.

Razon’s counsel, Laurence Arroyo, had said the complaint was in relation to Barzaga’s January 9 Facebook post, which read “NUP (National Unity Party) Congressmen received bribes from Enrique Razon in various gatherings in Solaire before the 2025 elections in exchange for supporting Speaker Martin Romualdez [of Leyte].”

Another January 9 Facebook post by Barzaga, also cited in the complaint, read “Enrique Razon is the mastermind behind the corruption in Congress, (sic) I will disclose everything in a speech once I return in the first week of February #IkulongSiRazon.”

“I will face him in court,” Barzaga had said in reaction to the case.

Meanwhile, the posts have already been deleted from Barzaga's Facebook page. —Llanesca Panti/LDF, GMA Integrated News
