CIDG: No surrender feelers from Revilla's co-accused
The Philippine National Police (PNP) - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) says there are currently no surrender feelers from former senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr.’s co-accused, Emilita Juat.
“Wala pong surrender feelers na nanggaling sa kampo ng hinahanap. Maigi sana ay sumuko na siya ng maayos and we will [ensure] her security. Of course, kung hindi naman, ay tuloy tuloy ang effort ng kapulisan para siya ay hanapin,” said PNP-CIDG NCR chief Police Colonel John Guiagui in an interview on Balitanghali on Tuesday.
(There are no surrender feelers coming from the camp of the accused at large. It would be best for her to surrender properly, and we will [ensure] her security. Of course, if not, our police force’s efforts will be continuous to locate her.)
Guiagui, meanwhile, said that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is currently in custody of four suspects from the warrant, while the CIDG is in custody of two.
Only Juat remains at large.
“Effort is ongoing for our law enforcement to locate her para macount natin lahat ng inilabas na warrant of arrest ng third division ng Sandiganbayan,” he added.
Earlier, Revilla’s other co-accused, Christina Pineda, was arrested at a checkpoint in Sagada, Mountain Province.
She was nabbed at around 12:40 a.m. while making her way back to Bulacan.
“Natrack natin kagabi na naandon siya so CIDG called the attention of other law enforcement unit to help with the arrest and luckily, natiyempo na naglatag tayo ng checkpoint tyaka yung manhunt natin,” Guiagui shared.
(Last night, we had tracked that she was there so the CIDG called the attention of other law enforcement units to help with the arrest and luckily, we were able to lay out a checkpoint and a manhunt.)
Revilla and 6 others are the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Sandiganbayan third division for malversation in relation to the alleged P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Revilla has surrendered to the PNP-CIDG in Camp Crame, Quezon City at around 9:58 p.m. on Monday.
The Sandiganbayan Special Third Division on Tuesday ordered the temporary detention of Revilla at the Quezon City Jail in Barangay Payatas. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
