More top contractors to develop socialized housing units under 4PH

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Wednesday welcomed the move of more Quadruple A contractors to develop socialized housing projects under the government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

In a statement, DSHUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the entry of top-notch contractors and developers is an indication of the private sector’s growing trust and support for the flagship initiative.

“Ang pagpasok ng mga dekalibre at respetadong contractor sa Expanded 4PH ay malinaw na patunay sa lalong lumalawak at lumalakas na suporta ng private sector sa programa ng ating Pangulong Marcos Jr.,” he said.

(The entry of top-quality and respected contractors into the Expanded 4PH is clear proof of the broad and strong support of the private sector for this program of President Marcos Jr.)

“Sa construction industry po, numero uno na konsiderasyon ang kredibilidad sa lahat ng parties – sa nagpapagawa, sa gumagawa at sa bibili. Kaya naman malaking bagay ito sa patuloy nating pagsusulong ng disente, mas ligtas at abot-kayang pabahay para sa mas maraming pamilyang Pilipino,” Aliling stressed.

A Quadruple A license is the highest classification awarded by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) to the most capable, financially-stable and well-established construction firms in the country.

Thaison Builders and Data Land Inc., both licensed Quadruple A contractors, are now in the final stages of talks with the DHSUD and the Pag-IBIG Fund to undertake projects under the Expanded 4PH.

Last month, Megawide Construction Corporation, another Quadruple A contractor, entered into an agreement with Pag-IBIG Fund to build an initial 7,000 socialized housing units.

“Mahalaga po ang papel ng private developers sa Expanded 4PH, sila po ang nangunguna sa production ng socialized housing at tayo sa DHSUD ay aagapay sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng mas mabilis at malinis na serbisyo,” Aliling said.

(Private developers have an important role in the Expanded 4PH, they are at the forefront of socialized housing production and we at the DHSUD will help them through faster and honest services.)
