AFP calls out disinformation on alleged P15-B ghost projects
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday dismissed anew claims on supposed P15-billion ghost projects in the military organization.
In a statement, the AFP pointed out that the amount refers to the TIKAS Program, which is exclusively managed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
“Allegations that [AFP chief General Romeo Brawner Jr.] violated the Philippine Military Academy Honor Code are completely false. No complaint, investigation, or finding exists to support this accusation. It is a fabricated narrative intended to malign the reputation of a senior military officer,” the AFP said.
“Furthermore, the AFP categorically denies receiving P15 billion from [Representative Martin Romualdez] for ‘ghost projects,’” it added.
The AFP called on the public to stay vigilant against recycled and misleading narratives and to rely only on official and credible sources.
The military organization remains firmly committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity in the performance of its constitutional mandate, the AFP added.
In October 2025, the Department of National Defense said it has recommended scrapping the unfinished military infrastructure projects under the DPWH.
This was after Senate finance committee chairperson Sherwin Gatchalian, in a Senate hearing on the DND budget, flagged the DPWH’s unfinished projects for the Philippine Air Force under the TIKAS program.
Since then, the AFP has been clarifying “misleading” social media posts linking the questionable projects to the leadership of the military. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
