Marcos on TOYM 2025 awardees: Through their work, PH in good hands

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday recognized the 2025 The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) awardees, emphasizing that the Philippines is in good hands through their work and the impact they created.

"In you, we see an emboldened generation that is guided by purpose and committed to service," Marcos said in a speech read by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

"To our awardees, continue to lead with integrity and act with compassion in your respective fields. The nation awaits your next triumph," he added.

Marcos was supposed to grace the awarding ceremony of TOYM Awards, but Recto instead attended the event.

No reason was given yet by the Presidential Communications Office why Marcos skipped the ceremony.

In his speech, Marcos said that for more than six decades, the TOYM has recognized young Filipinos who take part in uplifting communities and shaping the country's future.

The theme of this year's celebration is "Excellence in Action, Building a Better Tomorrow."

Marcos said that in this age of the Bagong Pilipinas, "excellence must be in our every endeavor so we can have a lasting impact on the lives of our fellow citizens."

The 2025 TOYM honorees are:

  • John Jamir Aruta for Environmental and Climate Psychology
  • Raymond Marvic (Ice) Baguilat for Law, Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples
  • Rafael Sison Dionisio for Regenerative Tourism and Circular Economy Entrepreneurship
  • Deo Florence Onda, Marine Science and Sustainability
