Anti-kidnap ops nab suspects in Pasay City and Cajidiocan, Romblon
Two suspects linked to separate kidnapping-for-ransom cases were arrested in different operations in Pasay City and Romblon on Tuesday, the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) said Thursday.
At a press conference, AKG chief Police Brigadier General Glicerio Cansilao said that in Pasay City, operatives arrested Danilo Abilong near Double Dragon Plaza Mall on Tuesday evening.
Abilong was apprehended by virtue of multiple warrants of arrest for kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended.
The warrants were issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Nasugbu, Batangas, in connection with a kidnapping incident that occurred on May 2, 2025.
Authorities said four individuals were victimized in the incident including two Chinese nationals, one Korean national, and one Filipino.
“Justice is for victims, as justice will bring the perpetrators behind bars. The Anti-Kidnapping Group’s campaign to account wanted persons involved in kidnapping-for-ransom cases has contributed to the decrease of cases during the past months,” Cansilao said.
In Romblon, he added, authorities arrested Lito Diego Presaldo or “Litz” in Sitio Can Adlay, Barangay Gutivan, Cajidiocan on Tuesday evening.
Presaldo is listed as No. 6 on the AKG’s Ten Most Wanted Persons, according to the AKG chief.
The arrested person is implicated in kidnapping-for-ransom activities that victimized two Chinese nationals and a Taiwanese.
He was arrested by virtue of several warrants of arrest issued by Regional Trial Courts in Pasay City and Parañaque, all carrying no bail recommendations, Cansilao said.
“This accomplishment underscores the commitment of AKG to peace, order, and public safety. Hiding is only a temporary option, and the rule of law will soon reach you,” he said.
