DILG: Atong Ang still ‘armed, dangerous’ as 1 firearm still missing
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said businessman Atong Ang remains “armed and dangerous,” as one of his registered firearms is still missing.
According to Marisol Abdurahman’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” the Mandaluyong Police brought Ang’s surrendered firearms to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms and Explosives Office.
These include an M16 assault rifle, three semi-automatic pistols, and one revolver.
The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office revoked all firearms registered under Ang’s name on January 16 as well as his permit to carry.
Citing Ang’s lawyer, the Mandaluyong Police said another M16 has been missing since October 2025.
Authorities are trying to confirm if the rifle is indeed missing, as six firearms were registered under Ang’s name.
The controversial gambling magnate was a Type 5 license holder, which means he can register more than five firearms.
The Mandaluyong police did not get information on the whereabouts of the businessman, who is now the country’s most wanted person.
Although Ang’s camp already surrendered his firearms, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla still considers him “armed and dangerous.”
Ammunition and magazines were also surrendered to authorities.
The Mandaluyong Police continues to monitor Ang’s house in the city, where they already served two arrest warrants.
The 68-year-old Ang, who is now considered a fugitive from the law, has yet to surface following the issuance of the arrest warrants against him in connection with kidnapping and homicide of multiple cockfighting enthusiasts or sabungeros.
