Third tranche of salary increase for civilian gov’t employees takes effect
The third tranche of salary increase for civilian government employees took effect beginning January 1,2026, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said Sunday.
The salary increase, which is based on the Executive Order No. 64, s. 2024, covers civilian personnel in national government agencies, constitutional offices, state universities and colleges, and covered government-owned or controlled corporations.
The DBM said the salary increase also covers casual and contractual workers under employer-employee relationship and the Compensation and Position Classification System.
Further, the department said the salary increases will apply automatically. It added employees will receive a notice of salary adjustment in their respective government agencies.
The DBM said the increase is based on salary grade, salary step, and salary schedule as stated in the circular.
For casual employees, the DBM said the monthly salary will be converted into daily rates, based on 22 working days every month.
However, the DBM said those whose salaries are beyond the Step 8 of the salary grade will not receive any increase. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
