CIDG receives 40 tips on Atong Ang's possible location

The Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has received at least 40 information on the possible location of businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, who is facing arrest over the missing sabungeros case.

“Naglabas tayo ng mga hotline numbers wherein pwedeng makipag-interact at magbigay ng mga information yung ating mga citizenry para tulungan tayo sa manhunt natin kay Charlie ‘Atong’ Ang and we have registered as of to date 40 na information doon sa dalawang number na ibinigay natin,” said CIDG- National Capital Region chief Police Colonel John Guiagui at a press briefing.

(We released hotline numbers where our citizenry can interact and provide information to assist us in our manhunt for Charlie ‘Atong’ Ang, and as of today, we have registered 40 pieces of information on the two numbers we provided.)

According to the report of Super Radyo dzBB’s Mark Makalalad, the CIDG-NCR chief said the locations being pointed out by their informants are mostly game farms.

The CIDG has already raided 14 locations in various parts of the country to serve an arrest warrant against Ang.

Further, Guiagui said they don’t have any sightings yet of Ang in Cambodia. Hence, Ang could still be in the Philippines, the report said.

BJMP prepares three facilities for Ang

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said that it’s already prepared three of its facilities in case Ang would be arrested.

BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera said the three facilities where Ang could be detained are: Santa Cruz District Jail, Lipa City Jail, and San Pablo City Jail.

“Pawang tatlo po kasi ang mayroong mga impormasyon na may kaso siya. Nauna pong nag-issue ng warrant ang Santa Cruz kaya pinaghandaan namin itong Santa Cruz District Jail. Medyo luma lang itong facility na ito compared doon sa dalawa,” he said in an interview with Super Radyo dzBB.

(Actually, there are three [locations] that have information regarding his cases. Santa Cruz was the first to issue a warrant, which is why we prepared the Santa Cruz District Jail. This facility is just a bit old compared to the other two.)
