Malacañang on Wednesday said there is no need to issue a medical bulletin on the health condition of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who was recently diagnosed with diverticulitis.

In a Palace briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro reiterated Marcos Jr.'s health condition is improving.

Castro told reporters.

(Medical bulletins are usually issued in cases of serious illness. If the President himself said his condition is not life-threatening, then there is no need for a medical bulletin as we are already providing updates on his health.)

Katawan naman nya po yun," she said.

(It may be more reliable for the President himself to speak about his condition.. That is his body.)

Marcos Jr. has skipped some public engagements after he was placed under medical observation last week due to diverticulitis, or the inflammation of irregular bulging pouches in the wall of the large intestine.

This included the Pagpupugay 2025: Parangal Sa Mga Lingkod event at Malacanang held earlier, where he was represented by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

Marcos Jr., however, attended the oath-taking ceremony of Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. as PNP chief.

Meanwhile, Castro urged the public to rely on information from the Palace and the President, denying reports of Marcos Jr.'s alleged worsening condition.

(ES Recto said the doctors advised him to rest, but he attended private meetings today, so that means his condition was improving.)

Marcos Jr. last week issued a video message assuring the public he is fine and that what he experienced was not a life-threatening condition. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
