Comelec: ICI asked for SOCEs of seven 2022 Senate bets
The Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) has asked for the statements of contributions and expenditures (SOCEs) of seven people who ran for the Senate in the May 2022 elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.
Poll chief George Erwin Garcia on Wednesday said the ICI had written to Comelec, and that the request was forwarded to the commission's Political Finance and Affairs Department (PFAD), he said.
"Kaagad natin itong ipadala sa [We immediately forwarded the request to the] PFAD for the office to immediately communicate and give these documents to the ICI," Garcia told reporters.
"Ang gusto natin [We want that] the Comelec will be fully supportive of the ICI since these are all public documents," he added.
The Comelec transmitted the documents to the investigating body last week, Garcia said.
In September 2025, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. issued Executive Order 94, which created the ICI as a non-partisan fact-finding body that would investigate irregularities in flood control projects and infrastructure projects in the last 10 years. — BM, GMA Integrated News
