Marcos plays with dog Oreo after recovering from diverticulitis illness
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday that he’s now okay after he was hospitalized due to diverticulitis.
Marcos said that he’s now back at work as he recently attended the Economic and Development Council meeting with his Cabinet members in Malacañang last Monday.“Okay na ako, ang galing ng mga doktor ko. Binigyan lang ako ng mga gamot at saka patuloy pa rin yung ating antibiotics. Pero okay na ako,” he said in a video where he can be seen playing with their family dog “Oreo.”
(I’m okay now, my doctors are excellent. They just gave me some medication, and my intake of antibiotics is still ongoing. But I am okay now.)
“In fact, nakapag-EDC meeting na kami nung Lunes with most of the Cabinet…Pero medyo nagtatampo sa akin yung mga doktor ko kasi sinasabi nila wag muna, sabi ko hindi ko naman pwede pag-antayin lahat ng mga nangyayari, so tinuloy ko na lang. And tomorrow, I have some meetings in the office and tuloy-tuloy na,” Marcos added.
(In fact, we already held an EDC meeting last Monday with most of the Cabinet... But my doctors are a bit upset with me because they were telling me 'not yet,' but I said I can't just keep everything that's happening on hold, so I just pushed through with it. And tomorrow, I have some meetings in the office, and it's back to business as usual.)
Marcos was placed under medical observation at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City due to diverticulitis, or the inflammation of irregular bulging pouches in the wall of the large intestine.
But the Malacañang denied the reports that Marcos would undergo surgery for his diagnosis. –Vince Angelo Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
