Palace: NBI mandated to investigate fake document on Marcos' health

NBI Mandated To Investigate Fabricated Document On Marcos' Health Status

The National Bureau of Investigation is mandated to investigate the spreading on social media of what Malacañang calls a fake medical document on the health of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro said on Thursday.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Wednesday condemned the circulation of the “fabricated and malicious” claims about the Chief Executive’s health.

St. Luke’s Medical Center also issued a denial, saying its medical results are released only to the patient himself/herself through authorized and official hospital channels.”

“The posting or sharing of a patient’s medical information by anyone other than the patient constitutes a breach of data privacy and is a violation of hospital policy and applicable laws," the hospital said in a statement.

Castro said the NBI should investigate the incident, noting that spreading false information on the President's health should not be taken lightly.

So, without even an order coming from the President, the NBI is mandated to investigate this matter,” she said.

(We don't need to ask. The NBI should swiftly act on it because they know what is happening within the government/ So, without even an order coming from the President, the NBI is mandated to investigate this matter.)

(The NBI should look into the circulation because it is not right to make light of the President's health. We know the NBI acts immediately, so they should investigate who is behind this.)

Castro earlier maintained that Marcos is in good health, as she disclosed that the President is set to attend three events on Thursday.

(The President is not on a vacation. Even when he needs rest, he is reading and studying the briefers so he would be updated on developments.)

(We know how hardworking he is. Our fellow Filipinos are not used to him relaxing, unlike others.) –NB, GMA Integrated News
