NTC surpasses 2025 revenue collection target, posts over ₱9B
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Monday announced that it has exceeded its 2025 revenue collection target, citing strengthened regulatory enforcement and improved collection efficiency.
In a press release, the NTC said it recorded a total revenue collection of P9.331 billion in 2025, surpassing its original target of P6.622 billion. The agency said the performance reflects sustained growth in the telecommunications sector.
The amount represents a 41% increase, or P2.709 billion, above the programmed goal and underscores the Commission’s commitment to fiscal discipline and effective public service.
The NTC attributed the achievement to the “concerted efforts of its personnel to strictly enforce stakeholders’ compliance” in the remittance of spectrum users’ fees, supervision and regulation fees, as well as payments for permits and licenses.
“The Commission’s revenue performance is our contribution to the broader fiscal and governance agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.," NTC Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez said.
"By strengthening regulatory compliance and improving collection efficiency, the NTC supports the administration’s efforts to ensure sound public finance, effective regulation, and the delivery of programs that advance digital connectivity, consumer protection, and inclusive national development,” she added.
The NTC said all revenues it collects are directly remitted to the National Treasury to support government projects, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s free Wi-Fi program.
Revenue collection targets for the NTC are set under the Budget of Expenditures and Sources of Financing, a document mandated by the 1987 Constitution and consolidated by the Department of Budget and Management.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
