Marcos trust, performance ratings down; Sara Duterte's up —OCTA
The trust and performance ratings of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declined while that of Vice President Sara Duterte increased based on the results of OCTA Research's 4th Quarter Tugon ng Masa survey released Monday.
The survey, conducted from December 16 to 20, 2025, showed the trust in Marcos declined by 9 percentage points from 57% in September 2025 to 48%.
Marcos posted majority trust ratings in most regions, except for the National Capital Region (NCR) with 42% and Mindanao with 36%. His highest trust rating was recorded in Balance Luzon with 54%.
Meanwhile, OCTA said 31% of Filipinos expressed distrust, the highest recorded in Mindanao at 52%, while 22% were undecided.
Based on the survey, the President's performance rating slightly decreased from 54% to 51%. His highest performance rating was recorded in Balance Luzon with 58% while the lowest was in Mindanao at 42%.
“Comparisons between the 3rd Quarter and 4th Quarter of 2025 show a decline in trust and a modest decrease in performance ratings for the President across several regions and socioeconomic groups,” OCTA said.
“Over the same period, the Vice President recorded increases in trust and performance ratings, along with lower levels of ambivalence,” it added.
Survey results showed that trust in Duterte increased from 51% to 53%.
Duterte’s highest level of trust was recorded in Mindanao at 89% while her lowest was recorded in Balance Luzon at 36%.
Meanwhile, 26% of adult Filipinos said they distrust Duterte, the highest being recorded in NCR at 37% and in Balance Luzon at 34%.
According to OCTA, results also showed that Duterte’s performance rating rose from 49% to 54%. The highest was recorded in Mindanao at 79% while the lowest was recorded in Balance Luzon at 41%
The survey firm interviewed 1,200 male and female adult respondents.
The survey has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level while it has a ±6% margin of error for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
