NGCP says Basyang-affected lines restored

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Saturday said it has completed the restoration of power transmission lines affected by tropical cyclone Basyang.

“Power transmission services have returned to normal after NGCP successfully restored transmission lines affected by Tropical Storm Basyang,” the grid operator said.

“Transmission services in all areas affected by Tropical Storm Basyang are now under normal operations,” it added.

NGCP assured the public that it continues to closely monitor weather disturbances and stands ready to activate its Overall Command Center (OCmC) "should any threat to its transmission facilities arise."

Eight people were reported to have died due to Basyang, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Saturday. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
