NCSC to pilot bank transfer system for cash gift distributions to senior citizens
The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) announced that starting the first quarter of 2026, a pilot bank transfer system will be implemented to distribute cash gifts to eligible senior citizens.
In a statement on Saturday, the commission said the bank transfer system aims to provide a more efficient, safer, and more convenient way to distribute benefits.
This would also ensure the benefits will directly go to qualified senior citizens.
The NCSC shared it is processing the distribution of P100,000 cash gifts to four Aeta centenarians who were unable to receive these in 2024 due to the transfer of the program from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

It added it is coordinating with the Department of Budget and Management as part of its safeguard.
The commission reported that in 2025, it distributed P2.8 billion cash gift, including the delayed distribution in the previous year.
This resulted in 96% budget utilization.
NCSC said it is coordinating with the Capas, Tarlac local government unit to complete the needed documents for the immediate release of the cash gift to Aeta centenarians.
Under RA No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarians Act, senior citizens are entitled to receive P10,000 upon reaching 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old and P100,000 upon turning 100 years old. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
