Bong Revilla arrives at DOJ for plunder probe over flood control mess
Former senator Bong Revilla arrived Thursday afternoon at the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the preliminary probe on his plunder complaint over alleged anomalous flood control projects.
Revilla was escorted by members of the Payatas police.
The complaint against him and others are for plunder, violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, direct bribery and receiving gifts by public officers, and corruption of public officers.
Revilla was implicated in the flood control corruption scheme by former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary Roberto Bernardo and former DPWH engineer Henry Alcantara.
The former senator has previously denied the allegations against him.
Meanwhile, his supporters held a protest in front of the DOJ amid his preliminary investigation.

Mark Bulier, a supporter from Cavite, said they are calling for the removal of Bernardo and Alcantara from the Justice Department's Witness Protection Program.
"Hindi naniniwala ang mamamayang Caviteño na dapat makulong ang isang Senator Bong Revilla. Naniniwala po kami na hindi siya kabahagi ng lahat ng pagnanakaw at kung paano iniimplementa 'yung flood control project," he said.
(The people of Cavite do not believe that Senator Bong Revilla should be jailed. We believe that he is not part of all the theft and how the flood control project was implemented.)
He said that Bernardo is the "mastermind and architect" of the scheme.
"Nananawagan kami sa DOJ na tanggalin sa WPP si Usec. Bernardo at si Henry Alcantara dahil sila po yung pangunahing dapat ikulong, litisin, at panagutin," he said.
(We are calling on the DOJ to remove Usec. Bernardo and Henry Alcantara from the WPP because they are the ones who should primarily be jailed, tried, and held accountable.)
