Recto orders coordinated action to boost counter-terrorism efforts

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto has directed government agencies to undertake more coordinated and concrete actions to further strengthen the country’s counter-terrorism efforts.

During the 37th Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) meeting Thursday, Recto, who chairs the council, led discussions on reinforcing counter-terrorism policies and enhancing strategic response to emerging threats.

“This is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s clear directive to reinforce peace and order nationwide—ensuring that all measures remain firmly anchored in the rule of law, guided by sound intelligence, and driven by our shared duty to protect the Filipino people,” Recto’s office said on Friday.

“During the meeting, the Executive Secretary directed all concerned agencies to deliver concrete, coordinated actions grounded in vigilance, unity, and compassion for the nation’s welfare,” it added.

Present in the meeting were National Security Council Secretary Eduardo Año; Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.; and National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Secretary Sabuddin Abdurahim.

Representatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, and more agencies were also in attendance. —Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
