Pastor Quiboloy in good condition amid human trafficking trial

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is in good condition and was present during a court hearing on his qualified trafficking cases on Friday, his legal counsel said.

“Medyo okay na [si Pastor Quiboloy] ngayon, sa awa ng Panginoon… He was present in the proceedings but turn pa kasi ng prosecution ngayon, so yung prosecution witness muna ang nag-testify,” said Atty. Israelito Torreon in an interview with Glenn Juego on Super Radyo DZBB.

([Pastor Quiboloy] seems okay now, by the grace of God… He was present in the proceedings but it is still the turn of the prosecution, so the prosecution witness testified first.)

“Hindi ako makasabi na okay [ang kaso]. Hindi rin ako makasabi na [ano]… I'm hopeful lang na sana maganda yung resulta para sa kliyente ko,” he added.

(I can’t say [that the case] is going well. I can’t say [otherwise]… I’m just hopeful that the results for my client will be good.)

In September 2025, Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy was rushed to the hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing.

He was diagnosed with Community Acquired Pneumonia (Moderate Risk).

Quiboloy then requested to be placed under hospital arrest but this was denied by the court in October 2025.

Witnesses, evidence update

Torreon said a male witness had testified in a hearing on Friday and was cross-examined. Another witness is set to be presented on March 5.

Meanwhile, Torreon said their camp’s request for a motion for reconsideration for bail is still ongoing.

“Na-deny kasi yung petition for bail namin. Nag-file kami ng MR (Motion for Reconsideration) so it's an ongoing thing, pero baka parang diretso na ito to decision. So kung mag-end yung prosecution on March 5, I would expect that they would be filing a formal offer of exhibits. We will file our comment and thereafter we will be filing our demurrer to the evidence,” he shared.

(Our petition for bail was denied. We filed an MR so it’s an ongoing thing, but I think this will lead straight to a decision. If the prosecution ends on March 5, I would expect that they would be filing a formal offer of exhibits. We will file our comment and thereafter we will be filing our demurer to the evidence.) — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
