Over 2M register for 2026 BSKE — Comelec
More than 2 million Filipinos have registered to vote in the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), according to the latest data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The poll body said a total of 2,382,364 individuals have signed up so far, exceeding its target of 1.4 million new voters.
Region IV-A (CALABARZON) recorded the highest number of registrants at 424,454. It was followed by Region III (Central Luzon) with 280,637 and the National Capital Region with 253,202.
Meanwhile, 3,279 applicants registered through the Special Register Anywhere Program (SRAP) site at the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila.
Nationwide voter registration for the 2026 BSKE resumed on October 20, 2025, and will run until May 18, 2026.
Applicants may register from Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at any satellite registration site or at the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) in their respective areas, the Comelec said.
The registration period covers various types of applications, including:
- new registration
- transfer of records
- change of name or civil status
- correction of entries
- reactivation of registration records
- inclusion of records, and
- reinstatement of names in the list of voters.
BARMM voters
In the Bangsamoro region, voter registration for both the 2026 BSKE and the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections reached 23,332 applicants, of whom 11,559 were female and 11,773 were male.
Lanao del Sur recorded the highest number of applicants at 704. It was followed by Maguindanao del Sur with 586; the Special Geographic Areas (SGAs) in Cotabato with 546; Maguindanao del Norte with 533; and Basilan with 439.
Tawi-Tawi posted the lowest number of applicants at 317.
The Comelec earlier said it aims to register 1.4 million new voters for the 2026 BSKE during the months-long nationwide registration period.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in August signed into law a measure postponing the BSKE from December 1, 2025 to the first Monday of November 2026, and every four years thereafter.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
