Rodrigo Duterte's confirmation of charges hearing resumes at ICC

Day 2 of Rodrigo Duterte's confirmation of charges hearing begins

The International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutors are expected to continue Tuesday their presentation for the second day of the confirmation of charges hearing of former President Rodrigo Duterte over the drug war.

According to the schedule, the prosecution will first present their submission on the merits, which is expected to run for an hour and a half.

The ICC Office of the Prosecutor has charged Duterte with three counts of crimes against humanity (murder and attempted murder) while implementing his anti-narcotics campaign.

Prosecutor and trial lawyer Edward Jeremy said he will present evidence that demonstrates Duterte's alleged responsibility.

He said the first part of his presentation will focus on the crimes charged in Count 2, which covers 14 victims labelled as "high-value targets."
