Matibag leads NBI effort vs personnel corruption, irregularities
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag on Wednesday said he will strengthen the bureau’s internal affairs unit, which probes irregularities and corruption among personnel.
(There’s already an internal affairs… we will strengthen the investigation.)
He issued the remark when asked how he will address corruption within the bureau.
Very strict po tayo diyan,” he added.
(I gave a marching order that no one should accept bribes or any offer to our agents. We will be very strict about this.)
He said those found guilty will be held liable in accordance with the law and rules.
Matibag also said that he is implementing a “reward and punishment system.”
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Matibag last week. He took his oath before Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
