Mapúa partners with Arizona State University for courses, int'l opportunities
The Mapúa Education Group on Friday announced a partnership that grants all its enrollees access to courses and the opportunity to have them enlist as international students with the Arizona State University (ASU).
The partnership will cover students across the Mapúa Education Group system — including undergraduate and graduate programs in its schools Mapúa University, Mapúa Malayan College Laguna, Mapúa Malayan College Mindanao, and Mapúa Malayan Digital College.
Students will be given access to courses by instructional content from ASU’s repository of academic programs, and be given the opportunity to enroll as international students with ASU and its ASU-Cintana Alliance.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to elevating Philippine education through globally benchmarked standards,” Mapúa University Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo said in a regulatory filing.
“By integrating global expertise, digital innovation, and future-focused curricula across our campuses, we are preparing Filipino learners to compete and lead on the world stage,” Maestrocampo added.
The Mapúa Education Group’s Mapúa University is the flagship university of iPeople Inc., the joint venture education group between House of Investments of the Yuchengco Group and the Ayala Group.
ASU, meanwhile, was ranked first in the United States for innovation and global impact in research, outreach, and stewardship.
“We are excited that Mapúa is advancing to the level of a comprehensive partner. As a comprehensive, broadly scoped institution, we look forward to working together through our Cintana relationship to help Mapúa achieve its aspirations and to support the Philippines, together with its allies, including the United States, in moving forward,” ASU president Michael Crow said. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/LDF, GMA Integrated News
