Marcos won't intervene in Sara Duterte impeachment proceedings, says Palace

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. would not intervene in the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, Malacañang said on Wednesday.

At a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President only wants due process to be observed and followed in the proceedings.

''Hindi po makikialam ang Pangulo sa mangyayari sa hearing (The President won't intervene on what will happen in the hearing),'' Castro said.

The House justice panel continues its deliberations on the impeachment complaints lodged against the Vice President.

On Monday, the panel found the two impeachment complaints against the Vice President sufficient in form.

The said panel found the third and fourth impeachment complaints against Duterte compliant with the Supreme Court decision which only allows the initiation of one impeachment proceeding against an official per year and has at least one endorser from the ranks of the House members. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
