Bong Revilla graft trial over alleged ghost Bulacan project to begin April 7, 2026

The Sandiganbayan has scheduled the graft trial of former senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. and six other co-accused over the alleged ghost P92.8-million flood control project in Bulacan for April 7.

This developed after the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division terminated the pre-trial of the graft case, the stage wherein both the prosecution and the defense submit their list of respective witnesses and documentary evidence.

Revilla’s co-accused in the case are:

  • former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez
  • former DPWH engineer Jaypee Mendoza
  • former DPWH engineer Arjay Domasig
  • former DPWH engineer Emelita Juat
  • DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office finance section chief Juanito Mendoza, and
  • DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda

Revilla has posted a P90,000 bail for the graft charge, but he remains in detention in New Quezon City Jail in Payatas, Quezon City since he is also one of the accused in the non-bailable malversation case also in connection with the alleged ghost P92.8 million flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

A non-bailable case means the accused, in this case Revilla and the six others, must file a petition for bail and secure court approval of the said petition before securing temporary liberty while the non-bailable case against them is pending.

Revilla is yet to file petition for bail before the Sandiganbayan Third Division handling his malversation case because he still has a pending motion for reinvestigation of the malversation case before the Office of the Ombudsman.

Revilla has repeatedly denied involvement in the said alleged ghost flood control project, saying it is a mystery to him how his accusers are able to sleep soundly at night.

In filing malversation and graft charges, Ombudsman prosecutors have alleged that Revilla and six other co-accused facilitated the fund release of the entire project cost, falsified accomplishment reports, issued fraudulent billing documents, endorsed disbursement and declared the project completed “despite the absence of any actual construction.” — BM, GMA Integrated News
