Juan Miguel Cuna takes oath as DENR acting secretary
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Friday administered the oath of office to Juan Miguel Cuna as acting secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The oath taking ceremony was held at Malacañang Palace.
To recall, Cuna previously served as undersecretary of the DENR from July 2017 to February 2026, and as assistant secretary from 2008 to 2017.
Cuna earned his Master's degree in Public Management at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in the United States.
He served as city councilor of Manila's 5th District from 2001 to 2007, and earlier held the post of director of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office at the Office of the President from 1998 to 2001.
Aside from his career in the government, Cuna was also a law professor at the Arellano Law Foundation. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
