Marcos reappoints Sabuddin Abdurahim as NCMF chief
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Friday administered the oath of office to Sabuddin Abdurahim, who was reappointed as Secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Malacañang Palace. According to the Presidential Communications Office, Abdurahim will serve as NCMF chief for another two years.
The NCMF is a government agency that promotes the rights, welfare, and culture of Filipino Muslims.
Abdurahim is a seasoned Filipino lawmaker and public servant. He served three terms in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Tawi-tawi from 2016 to 2024, where he held key positions, including as chairman of the Committees on Business, Trade and Investment, Infrastructure, and Budget and Appropriation.
He also served as vice chairman of the Committees on Health and Education.
Before entering public service, Abdurahim spent more than two decades as a medical technologist at the Integrated Provincial Health Office in Bongao, Tawi-tawi.
Abdurahim was also an accredited Murshid (Spiritual Guide or teacher) in the Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-Tawi (ZAMBASULTA) region from 1999 to 2023. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
