Marcos assures faster, non-political distribution of gov't aid
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday assured that the government will promptly distribute assistance to Filipinos, particularly senior citizens, regardless of their political affiliation.
According to a statement on Sunday, Marcos made the remarks on his vlog, where he urged Filipinos to continue expressing their concerns.“Tama lang na ihayag ninyo ang inyong mga saloobin. At wala ring malaki o maliit na hinaing, lahat po ‘yan ay problema basta pabigat sa pamumuhay ng tao. At nandito naman kami para makinig at aksyunan ang mga bagay-bagay na ‘yan,” the President said.
(You should express your thoughts. No grievance is too big or too small. All of them are problems if they weigh down people’s lives, And we are here to listen and take action on these matters.)
He pointed out that national government aid programs should not be used for political gain.
Marcos said existing policies, such as guidance under the Department of the Interior and Local Government, already prohibit such practice.
The President said the government is also exploring digital aid distribution to speed up and streamline the process.
