Marcos arrives in New York for 2-day working visit

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is now in the United States for a two-day working visit that includes high-level engagements at the United Nations (UN).

Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos arrived in New York on Sunday afternoon (New York time) via a chartered flight.

The President departed Manila on Sunday morning, local time for a two-day working visit until March 11.

His brief visit will include high-level engagements at the UN, where he is expected to call on parties in the Middle East conflict to exercise restraint and respect international law as well as the UN Charter.

Marcos will also meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of his visit, as well as participate in the opening of the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. — With reports from Joseph Morong/JMA, GMA Integrated News
